Hi, I’m Sara – welcome to my blog, Whole Food Home, a site which will (hopefully) come to be filled with lots of inspiration for the home, food and the garden.
Food – real food, plays two vital roles: firstly to nourish the body, and secondly to nourish the soul. Fresh seasonal produce is a thing of great beauty, to be celebrated and appreciated as a gift, and of course to be shared with family and friends.
Just as we gain such pleasure from wonderful food, the same delight can be found in using pure and natural products to care for our bodies on the outside. Making your own soaps, shampoos, bath milks, cleansing masks, creams and balms with beautiful rich and pure ingredients is a luxury that everyone should indulge in.
Never underestimate the simple satisfaction of tucking into a plate of beautiful fresh greens that were growing in your garden only twenty minutes earlier. Everyone can and should grow something. Whether you have the space for some raised beds or you are just getting started with sprouting some seeds and a pot of tumbling tomatoes on your window sill, there’s no going back – growing your own vegetables is a pure joy.
I am by no means a trained cook, I learned what I know in my kitchen by filling hungry mouths and putting portions on plates. Practice makes perfect, and the only way to get confident in the kitchen is to cook!
If you use good, fresh ingredients, and combine them in a complimentary way, you can never go too far wrong. If things don’t turn out quite as expected, there is usually a creative way to salvage the situation, and who knows? you might even end up with something even better than before.
